A Kieran Mannisield hat-trick helped Crown Scissett brush aside Wakefield Athletics' second string in this Division Two relegation battle.

In their last game of the season and needing a victory to secure their Division Two status, the host's found themselves under pressure from the outset and fell behind in the 10th minute when the visitors capitalised on some sloppy defending. A controversial penalty a couple of minutes later saw Crown Scissett double their tally before racing into a 3-0 half-time lead.

Half-time pep talk by the management proved fruitless as the visitors upped their tempo and punished the home outfit with a further four goals salvo. Also on target for Crown Scissett were Chris Trow (2), Steve Beaumont and Scott Croucher.

Wakefields' fate is now out of their hands with another basemen club Waterloo needing five points from their last two games to overtake Wakefield in this relegation mire.
