Wakefield & District Sunday Football League (Division Three)

Eagle OB .......................................... 3
Wakefield Athletic "B" ......................... 3

A last-gasp leveller denied Wakefield Athletic "B" a priceless away win at Eagle Old Boys in this return Division Three fixture.

The struggling visitors looked to be heading for only their second victory of the season until Tony Dunne struck at the far post in the dying minute.

Wakefield had edged ahead when Marc Shaw nodded the ball on for Matthew Kidd to coolly convert with a clinical finish.  The host rallied and were soon level thanks to Mick Kelley and it got better when Sam Asquith somehow converted from the highest of angles with a looping cross-cum shot just after the break.

The visitors dug in  and got themselves level at 2-2 when defender Simon Eastwood lashed a loose effort in-off the post.  They then looked on course for maximum points when the home keeper misjudged a cross under pressure from Chris Wood and the ball trickled in over the line.

However, disaster struck as Eagle piled on the pressure and a wild strike from Dunn found at the back of the net at the far post and won his side the share of the spoils.

The WYCO man-of-the-match for Wakefield Athletic "B" was shared by Simon Eastwood and Alex Varley.
