Wakey Ath B's dismal season continued on Sunday after going down 4-0 at Flanshaw in this Division Three fixture.
It was the same old story for Athletic, who were unable to take their chances at one end and unable to keep their rivals out at the other. Despite being the dominant side in the first half, lapses at the back enable Macca and Sid to hand the hosts a two-goal cushion at the break.
Matthew Kidd was denied by the Flanshaw keeper, Graham Waite flashed a shot narrowly past the far post and Jason Sinclair unable to connect with the ball begging to be dispatched soon after.
Wakefield's frustration would only intensify after the break. The home keeper turned Marc Shaw's goal-bound effort round a post as the chances kept coming but at the other end Flanshaw put the game out of reach with two more strikes as the visitors capitulated again.
Relegation looms large on the horizon for Athletic 'B' who have simply failed to get going this term.
The West Yorkshire Sports & Social Club's man-of-the match award for Wakefield Athletic "B" was shared by Andrew Black, Jason Sinclair and Graham Waite.
