Wakefield Athletic 'B' started this game without main striker and captain Marc Shaw who had been taken down with food poisoning, this still made no excuse for the poor goals which they conceded.

First goal from Shephards came early on as Lee Payne headed home from a nicely placed corner kick. The second came against the run of play as the rearguard of Rodwell, Henry, Eastwood, Maher who had formed a good understanding, allowed the ball to be won in the box by Nathan Smith who slotted home from past Paul Grey.

Wakefield then managed to pull one back through great work down the right hand side which saw Ismael Dibagh run clear and score his second goal in two games. Matthew Kidd also came close, hitting the bar with a great effort from outside the area.

A third goal for shepherds came just before the break. Jermaine Jones scored through a long range effort.

The second half was much the same Wakefield made changes into the half bringing on Richard Brown, Darren Barnes and Andy Black, but they failed to stop Shepherds scoring two more goals through Lee Payne and Nathan Smith. Wakefield had chances still through a Darren Barnes header, Matthew Kidd again hitting the crossbar and Andrew Ladley who was pushed up front late on in the half.

Wakefield had good performances from Matthew Kidd and Simon Eastwood who. But the WYCO man of the match award was shared by Ismael Dibagh and Tom Maher.
