Wakefield Athletics' third team's improving form came to an abrupt end with a loss at Bretton Hall Tigers in this Division Three fixture.
 
The home side started the brightest with chances in the opening ten minutes but it was Wakefield who struck first through Chris Woods when he ran onto a through ball from Andy Black to cooly lob the keeper.
 
Bretton fought back and scored twice to take a 2-1 half-time lead before adding to their tally early on the turn when a defensive error was punished.
 
The introduction of Darran Barnes and Matthew Kidd spurred Wakefield on and they were soon rewarded when Kidd Jr beat the off-side call to slot home his third goal in as many games to make it 3-2.  The home side again responded and punished the visitors push for an equaliser to restore their two goals lead.
 
Wakefield forced a tense finish with Andy Black pulling one back  bur the home side held on for three vital points.
